Edinburgh has a spectacular cityscape an is surrounded by miles of beautiful countryside. The city itself can be divided in two - the historic Old Town, with its medieval cobblestone streets and alleys and the Georgian New Town with its elegant neo-classical facades.

Edinburgh is a modern, dynamic city with plenty of museums, galleries, universities and festivals. In August, Edinburgh becomes host to the biggest open arts festival in the world; the Edinburgh Fringe Festival. It's a fantastic showcase of art, music, drama, dance and street theatre.

Then there's Holyrood Park. Six hundred and fifty acres of probably the most natural city centre park in all of Europe. At 823 feet above sea level, it completely dominates the Edinburgh skyline. The views from the top down onto the city are spectacular.

The surrounding Lothian countryside is a beautiful natural setting filled with historic homes and castles. East Lothian provides some of
the best golf courses in the world. Head eastwards and you'll come to the coast, where walkers and cyclists enjoy miles of sandy coastline. Then there's the Pentland Hills on the edge of the city, where you'll find truly stunning views.
