You can explore charming towns and villages like picturesque Grasmere, learn about the history of the Lake District at its castles and historical houses (Wordworth House is well worth a visit), enjoy the great variety of attractions like the Windermere Lake Steamers or have some family fun at the many events and festivals – Whitehaven International Marine Festival, for example - taking place all year round.
