There are not many places on earth that have generated as much intrigue, speculation and wild theories as the mysterious standing stones of Stonehenge.
They stand out dramatically from the idyllic rolling hills and plains of the English countryside. The sight usually makes people gasp; a powerful feeling of curiosity, wonder and awe takes hold.
There's a sense that these are something very, very important; this is definitely one of the coolest places in the UK.
The stones have stood there for over 5000 years; but who built them, how were they built, and more importantly, why were they built? Nobody really knows for sure...
