It's home to the largest foreign exchange market in the world, the richest football club (Manchester United) and the inventor of the hovercraft. JK Rowling, author of the famous Harry Potter books, was born here. Great Britain consists of the two kingdoms of England and Scotland, and the principality of Wales. It's an island lying off the western coast of Europe.
England itself is famous for many things - David Beckham, fish and chips, pubs, Big Ben, red buses, black cabs, Oasis, Blur, the Beatles, Wimbledon, Princess Diana, London and of course, tea.
The capital and largest city, London, is in the southeast of the country. It's located at both sides of the massive River Thames. Greater London has a total land area of 1,580 square kilometers and is divided into 32 boroughs. There are currently over 6 and a half million people
